Exhibition of the History of Apirede September 14, 2023
In 2021, Rural Communities Empowerment Center (RCEC) and its staff at Apirede Community Resource Center (ACRC) started the Apirede Historical Project. The project in text and pictures is a snap shot of the town of Apirede from 1400 – 2023. The exhibition is housed in the Resource Center a place that is accessible to all.
The founder of the Center – Philomena Ansah Amoako -- believes that the citizens and school children should know their history. RCEC with this exercise and exhibition gives the community an account of their history. The information helps them understand their identities, what formed their culture, how their society has evolved and also hopefully provide the students and citizens, accurate pictures of the past.
